This year, the Museum of Cycladic Art continues to offer the best weekend activities for children! Every weekend until May, children and parents get acquainted with the exciting world of the Museum through activities specially designed for children ages 2.5 to 10 years old, such as fairytales, interactive tours, and art workshops inspired by the arts, literature, music, dance, and the environment!
The Museum of Cycladic Art adheres to all protective measures and rules to prevent and protect against COVID-19, and all Museum staff members have been vaccinated. In addition, the Museum received the SGS DISINFECTION MONITORED CLEANING CHECK MARK, which verifies that all cleaning and disinfecting procedures are completed to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 on all of its premises.
The weekend education programs are realized with the support of Eurolife FFH, a strategic partner of the Museum of Cycladic Art.

Summer is fast approaching! During this year’s last workshop, we travel to Polynesia to dance to the rhythms of the movie Moana. We wear grass skirts, paint our bodies, and let the Hula dance lead our steps and help us tell stories with our movements. Then, like ocean travelers, we use our hands to build clay boats that will take us on a journey this summer. We mold, squeeze, and cut. We feel the clay and its plasticity. We engrave and paint. In the end, our boat is ready to be fitted with its sail.
Happy sailing!
P.S.: Parents and children, please wear casual and comfy clothes and be prepared to get messy, as we will get messy!

The workshop will celebrate the book Pablo Picasso by Isabel Munoz and Jane Kent
Series: Small Children with Big Dreams, Dioptra Publications.
In the last workshop of the year, we are transported to France during the period between the two world wars, when Paris was the capital of art and creativity. The cafés were filled with voices and laughter, jazz music flooded the streets, and many art movements flourished.
The artist who best embodied the artistic movement of that era was none other than Pablo Picasso. We follow Picasso’s life through the book by Isabel Munoz and Jane Kent to dwell on a very creative period of his work, cubism. Looking at paintings from this period, we wonder why the mouth and the head are on the right, while the feet and hands are on the left, why all the elements in the painting are mixed up, and why there are geometric shapes everywhere. After getting answers from the book and finding our own answers, we will create our own crazy cubism-inspired paintings.
Let’s experience the years of madness together!

Friedensreich Hundertwasser was a visionary artist and architect, and he was also a passionate environmental activist. With the help of construction companies and farmers, he once managed to plant more than 150,000 trees in a valley in New Zealand.
Let’s make our own tree collage and get to know the unique artistic style of the artist, whose name translated into English as Peace-Realm Hundred-Water!

Cosmic Nature is what Yayoi Kusama calls the organic forms that she creates and covers with colorful dots so that they become one with their environment.
Her artwork includes striking paintings and installations of plants and flowers that, according to Kusama, resemble people, like her beloved pumpkin that told her the most amazing story when she was little!
In this workshop, we will learn about the work and life of Yayoi Kusama and fill the Museum with Cosmic Nature!
