The world’s most beloved tenor, one of the most important artists of all time, who has managed to bring classical music to the top of the international charts, musician, composer and producer, the leading and multi-talented Andrea Bocelli undersigns the biggest musical event of the summer.
The prestigious and unique distinctions and the title of the "Classical Artist of the Year” that he was awarded twice, along with a Guinness Record, when he captured all three top positions in the American Charts for classical music, seal his undisputable value and classify him amongst the legends of the contemporary global artistic reality.
Andrea Bocelli is bringing the aura of his enormous career and his collaborations with modern superstars of the opera such as: Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Angela Gheorghiu, Sarah Brightman, Zubin Mehta, Franco Zeffirelli, as well as, with stars from the pop scene, such as: Celine Dion, Elton John, Tony Bennett, Jenifer Lopez, Ed Sheeran and many others.
His extraordinary voice, with a distinctive and very characteristic magical tone, recognizable worldwide, will accompany us to a unique emotive experience. Once Celine Dion had commented on Andrea Bocelli’s voice: “If God would have a singing voice, He would sound a lot like Andrea Bocellli.”< /span>
The program of the concert will bring out the range and the limitless possibilities of his famous voice, as well as, his spontaneous stage temperament. It will consist of diamonds of the classical-symphonic repertoire combined with beloved arias that will co-exist with Italian canzonettas and modern pop sounds.
Andrea Bocelli is returning to Athens and to the stage of the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. He will be accompanied by the choir and the Symphony Orchestra of Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) conducted by one of the most important contemporary maestros, the famous Marcello Rota.
It will be a landmark concert, a majestic and once in a life time experience, bellow the slopes of the illuminated rock of Acropolis and the world's greatest cultural monument, the Parthenon.
For a good cause
The concert is organized by the International Foundation for Greece (IFG) (www.if-gr.org), which was founded in London by George and Aspasia Leventis, with the aim of promoting Hellenic culture abroad, in collaboration with international personalities of arts and science.
The IFG, faithful to the values of social sensitivity and contribution, will present the famous tenor and their Honorary Patron, Andrea Bocelli in the frame of accomplishing its noble causes. The concert's revenues will be mainly availed to the purchase of heating oil for schools of the Hellenic Territory, as well as, medical equipment among others.
