After the great start of the season with James Ruskin and the 12 hour music Marathon with The Hacker, DJ Stingray and Drew Mc Dowall, Unstable Signal strikes back presenting a clubnight with some great artists such as Shifted, Charlton, MBasix, Ayshel and Greta on Christmas Eve at Temple Athens.
As a producer, DJ & label head, Shifted has carved a unique space for himself within the field of modern electronic music - working diligently at the fertile juncture between Noise, Ambient & cutting edge, contemporary Techno. His music has been released on labels such as Avian, Bed of Nails, Drifting Over etc.
Charlton’s inventive style of producing tracks combines techno from “the old days” with his own dark off-beat rhythms resulting in a great sound. His tracks have been released on labels such as, Audio Assault, Arms, Labrynth, Aftertaste Pohjola, Krill music, and Mord.
Ayshel is a new but well known from her participation at many parties, Athens based DJ. She is a co-founder of the project Waiting Room who after her great debut at Temple Athens, will present a new DJ set b2b with Greta. Looking forward to this.
Greta is based in Athens, Greece and will make zis debut at Unstable Signal events. Ze is an up and coming, very talented and versatile multimedia artist, resident of the Qreclaim parties and part of the project Waiting Room. Ze also runs the multimedia project Eremus.
Along with them, MBasix the founder of Unstable Signal. After a signifigant presence in the underground Greek Rock and Jazz scene with some of the most important groups as a musician, he dived into Electronic music in the early 90’s and has released his music on labels such as EMI, Warner music, Advanced, Distrophonix, Pegasus Records, Anazitisi Records etc. He will present new material in his live set.
SHIFTED (Avian/ Hospital Productions)
To understand Guy Brewer's creative output is perhaps more of a perceptive outlook onto the surroundings that have harnessed and fertilized such a mutable yield - a progressive change that is at all times moving forward in its' impulsivity and temperament. From his debut on Luke Slater's Mote Evolver label, to Dominick Fernow's (Vatican Shadow) Bed Of Nails and to his recent recordings for his own smartly curated imprint, Avian (home to techno experiments from Alessandro Cortini's Skarn, Peder Mannerfelt, SHXCXCHCXSH, and more) Brewer's work radiates in its' capacity to meld to context and circumstance without artistic compromise, and at once to color outside purist lines, pushing boundaries and provoking thought in a call to progressive techno, electronic, noise and experimental music as a whole. With the intention of pushing various forays further, Brewer has also birthed numerous other projects, notably the techno-drone outfit Covered In Sand (with releases on Avian's sister label, Mira, Hospital Productions and more) and the doomy soundtrack wielding of Alexander Lewis (home on Blackest Ever Black, Vereker's Endagered Species).
CHARLTON (Poverty is Violence/ Mord)
It was around 1999 that Charlton first came face to face with techno. He started producing and building up his unique sound in 2001. Boosted by the Electronic Music Productions study he took at one of Holland’s best known music production colleges, he started putting his work together for his first live PA, which debuted in 2004.
He was soon playing all over the place with with gigs and residencies across Holland and has since then played at various cutting-edge parties such as Awakenings, Heroes of Techno, Q base, Detatched etc.
Moving to London gave Charlton New experience and a clearer point of view to understand the essence of techno music.Charlton’s tracks have been released on labels such as, Audio Assault, Arms, Labrynth, Aftertaste Pohjola, Krill music, and Mord. His first ever EP “Slowdown Basterd” received top when it came out in August 2010 on M_Rec. Moreover, ”Black Slong” has been featured on Norman Nodge’s Berghain 06 compilation.
MBASIX (Unstable Signal)
MBasix (M_Basix) a.k.a. Michalis Vassiliou has proven to be a versatile artist, dealing with different music styles throughout his long music career. As an Electronic music producer and a DJ, his song ” Dancin’ ” reached No1 of the U.S.A. (Miami) Maemeeti Techno Dance Charts and stayed there for seven weeks, from the 1st of August 2009. His projects, his releases and finally his sound attracted an interest in Greece and abroad. He also did multiple gigs in Greece, Germany and other European countries in order to support his releases. After a signifigant presence in the underground Greek Rock and Jazz scene with some of the most important groups as a musician such as Lefki Symphonia, Purple Overdose, No Man’s Land, Interplay Electro etc. he dived into Electronic music launching a record label called Unstable Signal focused on quality Electronic music in order to support the underground music culture by putting out records as well as organising events/concerts. He has released his music on labels such as EMI, Warner music, Advanced, Distrophonix, Pegasus Records, Anazitisi Records etc.
AYSHEL (Waiting Room)
Ayshel is a new but well known from her participation at many parties, Athens based DJ. Her selections are located somewhere between tribal beats, hypnotic melodies and industrial sounds. Her sets are mostly based on techno, through a constant exploration of dark and aetherial atmospheres, while also trying to bridge her metal music origins with electro and acid elements. She is also a co-founder of the Waiting Room project.
GRΞTA (Waiting Room/ Qreclaim)
Greta is a tech/kno DJ, based in Athens, Greece. Ze is part of the Waiting Room project and a resident of the infamous Qreclaim parties. Zer sets are both soothing and brutal, structured and chaotic. Ze is currently experimenting on different ways of merging sound and visual landscapes, in order to create completely immersive installations. Ze mainly performs in the queer scene of the city and when not performing, ze can most probably be found in front of monitors, exploring or creating cyberspaces and alternate realities.
